If the employee works outside normal hours, test the time condition as well.

Finally, document ownership. The PBX should show which extension is assigned to which device, who is responsible for it, and when it was last changed. Central records matter when a phone is lost, moved between offices, or reassigned to a new employee.

Security and control still require attention

A QR code makes activation easier, not automatically risk-free. The code should be unique, limited to the intended provisioning action, and invalidated or regenerated when there is a concern that it has been exposed. Administrators should also be able to remove a device registration promptly when an employee leaves or a phone goes missing.
